FAQs
Every company needs team building, whether for sales, managerial or corporate leadership teams. Many companies currently require realignment following mergers or job cuts and we’re ideally placed to help with this.
When a company has been operating for several years it is important to re-engage employees, invest in their personal development, and introduce new ways of viewing situations, problems and challenges. By taking the training room to the great outdoors, every organisation can benefit from our innovative approach to maximising everyone’s potential.
Yes, we can help with recruitment and selecting appropriate candidates by testing their interpersonal skills outside of the office environment, organise fundraising events such as the Three Peaks Challenge for both companies and charities, and help you create successful leaders.
During your first meeting, our team of outdoor specialists will assess your company’s needs and begin to outline a plan of bespoke course content. The courses are specifically designed to be neither overly strenuous nor dangerous. We want to help you build relationships and change behaviours in the workplace and therefore the activities are weighted 80% mental and 20% physical. We deliberately take you to the great outdoors to change your mindsets, and help you identify and select the most appropriate leaders for your company, not to turn you into SAS dynamos!
Now that would be telling and where’s the fun in that?! In fact, the activities set depend very much on the group’s objectives. If a company wants to build a united approach to a specific project, we would create a set of target driven challenges which depend on team work and an effective leadership role, encouraging the participants to co-ordinate their efforts to achieve a common goal, or suffer the consequences of failure!
Stupid is as stupid does. People only ever look stupid for one of two reasons – either they refuse to play along or they think they are better than the next person. The aim of this type of training is to unite teams so we need people who are prepared to muck in and we want to help you create and identify true leaders, not give show-offs an opportunity to, well, show off! We believe that training should be positive, upbeat and rewarding. Granted, some of the activities can produce amusing results, but this is not intentional, we promise!
All the outdoor equipment you require should be fairly easy to come by. We provide all technical equipment so a pair of sturdy walking boots and a warm fleece will get you far. If you do wish to go the whole hog and kit yourself out we will happily take you on a shopping trip or advise you on suitable purchases, commando style!
There is no need to organise anything other than what training you require and who you wish to attend. Insurance is included as standard on all courses and activities as part of our duty of care. Transport can be included on Go Commando courses, and all mountain events include pick up and drop off in the price.
We have a range of accommodation to suit everyone’s tastes: for those who like a little luxury we have private rooms, communal dormitories for those who don’t want to be the ‘I’ in team and canvas for the hard-core commando wannabes!
Yes, very well and lots of it! You will be working in a mountainous environment and burning lots of calories. During the outdoor training we need your full attention and commitment, so at Go Commando we march our armies on their stomachs!
We can tailor any course to any group, age and physical ability. We like to view exercises as challenges so there is no problem we cannot overcome - that’s what we do!
As part of any mountain trip we will provide you with personal fitness programmes, provided by our sister company Body Solutions Personal Training, pre-mountain training days and email motivation! We don’t take it for granted that you are physically fit, instead we make sure you are physically prepared and mentally aware.
We work with everyone, from charities to banks, from prisons to software engineers and everyone in between. Adaptability is the key that has lead to our success.
