Snowdon Horseshoe
A fantastic day with fantastic views (on a good day)! The Snowdon Horseshoe is one of the best ridge walks in the country.
The least strenuous of all our challenges, it requires less training and energy, but the same degree of mental strength. That a side it is not a walk in the park!
Starting at the foot of Snowdon, challengers are taken up to the legendary Crib Goch standing at 923 meters, they traverse the knife edge ridge to Crib Ddysgl (1065m) then onto Snowdon itself(1085m).
After a brief snack break the team heads over and up to the second ridge of the day Y Lliwedd (898m) and then down to the miners track to complete the horse shoe and the 11km walk (6.8miles). The last climb to Y Lliwedd can feel long and hard, but the views from the summit of the whole horseshoe make it worthwhile.
The day starts early and takes between five and eight hours depending on weather, route selection and the group’s ability to complete a total of 910m of accent. You'll leave with a sense of achievement, a mountain workout and a big grin!
All pre event training and support is provided as well as insurance and refreshments at the end of the challenge.
